Robert L. Elam Sr., age 73, of Brownstown, Illinois passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 in the comfort of his own home.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Crown Point Church in Vandalia, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Pete LeDuc will be officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in rural Vandalia, Illinois. Memorials may go to Brownstown Fire Department.

Robert was born June 24, 1947 to Robert W. Elam and Dorothy Woolard. He served in the Army as a combat engineer during Vietnam. He was a truck driver and loved to ride his horses in his free time.

Robert is survived by his mother, Dorothy Woolard of Litchfield; son, Robert Elam Jr. (Bri) of Vandalia; daughter, Roberta Evrley (Mike) of Pana; 9 grandchildren; nephew, Tobi Simonton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Elam and brother, Norman Elam.
