Robert Donald Waddell, age 83, of Crest Hill, Illinois, formerly of St. Elmo, passed away at 9:36 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2022 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo, Illinois with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Jim Giffin will be officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo. Memorials may to go Pagel Funeral Homes or the donor's choice.

Robert was born on September 22, 1939 in St. Elmo, Illinois, the son of Edward M. and Hannah L. (Washburn) Waddell. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Jessica Hatcher of Bismarck, Illinois, David Waddell of Crest Hill, Illinois, Rebecca Alcorn of Crest Hill, Illinois, Terrance Waddell (wife Mary) of Crest Hill, Illinois, and Rachel Watson (husband Chris) of Crest Hill, Illinois; sisters, Carolyn Turley of Ohio and Marsha Mueller of Altamont; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Hannah Waddell; son, Robert G. Waddell; brother, Gordon "Skippy" Waddell; and brother-in-law, Wayne Mueller.
