Robert Allen Willis, age 80, of Mason, Illinois passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A memorial service for Robert will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to HSHS Hospice or the donor's choice.

Robert was born on June 23, 1944 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the son of Richard P. and Dorothy I. (Compton) Willis. He married Nancy Sue Priser on August 20, 1965 in Winterhaven, CA. Robert served in the United States Navy and was stationed on USS Rogers from 1961 to 1965. He worked as a guard at the Vandalia Correctional Center for several years. Robert loved watching cartoons with his grandkids and telling jokes.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Willis of Mason; 2 sons, Todd Willis (wife Irma) of Lubbock, Texas and Travis Willis of Watson; 2 daughters, Tamera Pattie (husband Russell) of Jacksonville and Trinetta Verdeyen (companion Danny Barger) of Effingham; brother, John Richard Willis (wife Debbie) of Centralia; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Willis and grandson, Joshua Willis.
