Roger Courson, age 80, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 5:21p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at his home in Edgewood, Illinois.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Elder Cemetery in Kinmundy, Illinois. Michael Durre will be officiating. Military and Masonic Rites will be observed. Memorials may go to the donor's choice.

Roger was born on July 31, 1941 in Fayette County, Illinois, the son of Arthur and Minnie (Outhouse) Courson. Roger served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Edgewood Masonic Lodge and Edgewood American Legion Post #1168. Roger was a proud water well business owner for most of his life. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his son, John Courson (fiancé Allison Miller) of Effingham, Illinois; daughter, Kim Farmer (husband Lance) of Henderson, Nevada; sister, Phyllis Maske (husband Delmar); grandchildren, Kelsey Beard (Kevin Deadmond), Samuel Beard, and Kylee Beard; great-grandson, Eddie; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Minnie Courson; brothers, Harley and Richard Courson.
