Ruby June Owens, age 75, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 6, 2021 at Macedonia Christian Church in Farina, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Jim Ziegler and James Mulvany will be officiating. Burial will be at Sidener Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. Memorials may go to Sidener Cemetery or the donor's choice.

Ruby was born on July 20, 1945 in Vernal, Utah, the daughter of Charles H. and Della M. (Tate) Newburn. She married Robert Allen Owens on July 23, 1973 in Metropolis, Illinois. She loved to crochet, do diamond dot paintings, collecting Indian dolls, and spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Guy Hays of Arkansas; daughters, Angela Nadolny of Mattoon, Illinois and Julie Webb (husband Matt) of Lebanon, Ohio; brothers, Ronnie Newburn (wife Barb) of Brownstown, Illinois and Kelly Newburn of Altamont, Illinois; 8 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and aunt, Doris Julius of Blue Mound, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Della Newburn and husband, Robert Owens.
