Rusty Lee Sowers, age 57, of Altamont, Illinois passed away at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at his brother's house in Farina, Illinois.

There will be a viewing from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorials may go to the Tori or Chris to help with expenses of Rusty's headstone.

Rusty was born on August 2, 1963 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of William E. and Joan (Leasher) Sowers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Shane Smith (Beth) of Farina, Illinois, Chad Smith (Sarah) of Iola, Illinois, and Chris Sowers (Lacey) of Farina, Illinois; daughter, Tori Sloan (Tony) of Altamont, Illinois; brother, Bruce Sowers (Brenda) of Farina, Illinois; sisters, Terry Dunn of Stewardson, Illinois and Candi Mintert (Tracy) of Effingham, Illinois; 15 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Pam Riley.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William Wayne Sowers.
