Stanley Olin Stine, 88, of Farina, passed away at 12:14 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2014 in Aperion Care of St. Elmo, St. Elmo, IL.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Freedom Reigns in Christ Church, St. Elmo, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at C & A Pagel Funeral Home, St. Elmo, IL. Burial will be in the Stein-Stine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Stein-Stine Cemetery Association. C & A Pagel Funeral Home, St. Elmo is handling the arrangements.

Stanley was born on August 27, 1925, the son of Sterling Otto and Addie (Ragel) Stine at the family farm in rural Farina, IL. He married Clara Grace McMillan on September 15, 1946 at the Macedonia Christian Church by Carl Gibson, where he was active as an elder and Sunday School teacher. In later years they moved their membership to St. Elmo Christian Church.

He grew up on the family farm and continued farming and milking cows. He graduated from St. Elmo High School with the class of 1944. He was founder and leader of the St. James Hornets 4-H Club for over 20 years. He served on the St. Elmo School Board for several years, and also a director of the Stein-Stine Cemetery Association for several years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Grace of rural Farina, IL; sons: Gordon Stine (wife Denise) of St. Elmo, IL, Stanton Stine (friend Trina) of Farina, IL; daughters: Judy Washburn (husband Orin) of Martinsville, IL and Sandra Widger (husband Fred) of Holiday Island, AR. Grandchildren: Matt Washburn, Brent Washburn, Julie Burk, Kim Reece, Tim Widger, Gina Widger, Tammy Springer, Chris Stine, Mike Stine, Pam Armstrong, Jared Stine, Daniel Stine, Shana Waldinger and Jil Patton, 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law: Mary Wallace Stine; sister: Ruth Fristoe; brothers: Gerald Stine and Donald Stine.
