Theresa Maria Richardson, age 62, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 9:38 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo, Illinois.  Burial will take place at a later date.  Memorials may go to Effingham Humane Society, or the donor's choice.

Theresa was born on November 30, 1959, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Charles W. and Betty S. (Bremer) Wheeler.  She married Joe Richardson on April 20, 1992, in Opdyke, Illinois. She was a former hotel manager. She enjoyed horseback riding, swimming, ceramics, and playing video games.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Richardson of St. Elmo, Illinois; daughters, Shari-Beth Oar (husband Wesley) of St. Louis, Missouri and Trayza Richardson of St. Elmo, Illinois; sister, Sherry Lopez (husband Frank) of California; and grandson, Jacob Oar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Wheeler and Betty Shaw.
