Violet Rubin, age 90, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Decatur, Illinois.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to service.  Pastor Hoehler will be officiating.  Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorials may go to St. Peter Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois, St. Peter Lutheran School or donor's choice.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.pagelfuneralhome.com.

Violet was born June 6, 1927 in Shobonier, Illinois, the daughter of Fred W. and Hanna Caroline (Naber) Beckmeier.  She married Arthur Rubin on June 6, 1948 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shobonier, Illinois.  She was a member St. Peter Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois and the St. Peter American Legion Auxiliary.    Violet enjoyed baking and spending time with family

She is survived by daughters, Joan Merry (husband Kevin) of Decatur, Illinois and Sharon Jurgens (husband David) of Decatur, Illinois; son, Ronald Rubin of Carbondale, Illinois; four grandchildren, Clint Jurgens, Clayton Jurgens, Lance Merry and Kyle Merry and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers Wilmer Beckmeier and Wayne Beckmeier; and one sister, Helen Reiss.
