Alan was born on August 6, 1952 in Fayette County, Illinois, the son of Dane “Buck” and Evelyn (Stork) Guy. He was a member of the Keen’s Chapel Church. Alan retired from Sherwin-Williams after working there for over 30 years. He began as a truck driver, then became a dispatcher, and retired as a Traffic Manager.  Alan was always a hard worker. Over the years, he worked in the oil fields, owned Dismissal Creek Taxidermy, and after retiring from Sherwin-Williams, he began working construction for Guerrettez Carpentry.

Alan was such a kind person. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, giving whenever possible, and cared for so many. Everyone that knew Alan knew he loved the outdoors. He taught his kids and grandkids to have that same love. He lived, ate, and breathed hunting. He also loved fishing. His greatest loves were his wife, Dena of 30 years, his children, and grandchildren. He made such an impact on so many lives while here on this Earth. He will be greatly missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife, Dena Guy of Farina; brother, Brien Guy (wife JoAnn) of St. Peter; sons, Chris Guy (wife Jami) of Kinmundy, Steven Rose (wife Casey) of Flora, Cody Guy (wife Heather) of Watson; daughters, Carrie Huggins (husband Charles) of Salem, Illinois and Stephanie Slater of St. Peter, Illinois; 10 grandchildren, Peyton, Sheldon, Serenity, Cooper, Taylor, Presten, Julian, Carson, Megan, and Jayden; special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dane “Buck” and Evelyn Guy; in-laws, Virgil and Ann Logue.
