Barbara Jean Bushue

Barbara Jean Bushue, age 85, of Dieterich, Illinois passed away at 11:22 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.

  Due to the weather and road conditions, Barbara Bushue’s Services are being rescheduled to the following days and times:

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Wyatt Schwengel will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood. Burial will be at St. Anne’s Cemetery in rural Edgewood. Memorials may go to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or the donor’s choice.

Barbara was born on December 28, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Mildred (McBride) Loy.  She married Floyd L. Bushue on December 9, 1961 in Houston, Missouri. After many years, she retired from World Color Press. Barbara loved quilting, embroidering, square dancing, camping, and spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Barbara was fortunate to have the most caring grandparents, Sam and Mary McBride, who raised her into the wonderful woman that she was.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Floyd Bushue of Dieterich; sons, David Bushue (wife Lanie) of Dieterich and Dale Bushue (wife Julie) of Mason; daughters, Janet Jamison (husband Joe) of Effingham, Jackie Bushue of Effingham, and Donna Brackney of Dieterich; brothers, Gaylord (wife Pat) Loy of Watson, Sam (wife Mary) Loy of Bible Grove; sisters, Colleen (husband Bill) Pourchot of Florida, and Oneta (husband Dave) Bingman of Effingham; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Sam and Mary McBride; brother, Randall Loy and sister-in-law Lorraine Loy; and one grandson, Josh Jamison.
