Carolyn Norine Forbes

Carolyn Norine Forbes, age 79, of Harristown, Illinois passed away at 4:55 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, Illinois.  

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo with graveside service to follow at Springhill Cemetery. PeeWee Denton will be officiating. Memorials may go to Springhill Cemetery or the donor’s choice. 

In reference to COVID concerns, please be mindful of social distancing guidelines and it is suggested that masks are worn.  

Carolyn was born on December 30, 1942 in Winnebago County, Illinois, the daughter of Johnnie Earl and Leola Norine (Tucker) Hopper. She married James H. Forbes in April of 2010. Carolyn enjoyed watching NASCAR and Little House on the Prairie. She loved animals, going to church, and was known to put everyone else before herself. Her favorite memories were made while spending time with her family and friends. Carolyn will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her son, David Forbes (wife Dawn) of Harristown; brothers, Jim Hopper (wife Marie) of Farina and Jack Hopper of St. Elmo; three grandchildren, Michael Templeton, Amy Forbes, and Dawnyelle Forbes; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Leola Hopper; husband, James Forbes; brothers, George Hopper and Rick Hopper; and sister, Norma Hopper.
