Charles W. Green, age 74, of Farina, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at his home.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Pagel Funeral Homes, Edgewood, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to service. Reverend Mike Durre will be officiating. Burial will be at Farina Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2021, at Pagel Funeral Homes, Edgewood, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may made to donor’s choice.

Charles was born February 4, 1947, in Salem, Illinois, the son of James W. and Virginia (Rohrbough) Green. Charles married Lois Liggett on September 8, 1972 in Farina, Illinois. Charles worked at the grocery store for many years in Farina, Illinois. He also worked for Southern Farms in St. Peter, Moritz Concrete and Mid Illinois Concrete in Effingham. Charles served in the U.S. Army. He was a volunteer for the Farina Fire Department and a member of the Farina American Legion Post #411. Following in his father’s footsteps, Charles farmed and raised cattle. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, giving them rides on the tractor and side by side.
Charles is survived by his wife, Lois Liggett Green of Farina, Illinois; son, Ryan Green (wife Sarena) of Farina, Illinois; daughter, Jennifer Green of Effingham, Illinois; sister, Anne Terrill of St. Louis, Missouri; brothers-in-law, James Liggett (special friend Shirley) of Farina, Illinois, Carl Liggett (wife Leona) of Wheatland, Indiana; three grandchildren, Raylee Green, Sadie Green, and Zayne Green all of Farina, Illinois; nephew, Wes Terrill (wife Christy), Wrenn Kates (husband Andy), and Wende Terrill; and several great nieces and nephews.
Charles was proceeded in death by his parents, James and Virginia Green; in-laws, George and Mary Liggett; and brothers-in-law, Joe Terrill and Charles Liggett.
