Christine L. Huntington

Christine L. (Nee/Schmidt/Glass) Huntington, age 79, of Effingham, Illinois passed away at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at her home in Effingham, Illinois.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes interred in Edgewood Cemetery.

Christine was blessed with two families who loved her. Her biological mother was Anita Schmidt/Nee/Ostertag who died shortly after Christine’s birth. Knowing she was unable to raise Christine, she asked her sister Irma Glass/Nee/Ostertag to take her and raise her as her own, thus giving her several names of equal importance to her.

She was the loving wife of James E. Huntington, the loving mother of James S. Huntington, and the loving grandmother of Lauran C. Huntington.

Christine was raised as the beloved sister of William (wife Leslie), Virginia Glass, Frank J. Class (wife Sharon). Her biological siblings were Dorothy (husband Ed), Jean (wife Sandy), Joan (husband Joseph).

She is survived by her husband, James Huntington Sr.; son, James Huntington Jr. ; granddaughter, Lauran Huntington; brother, Frank Glass (wife Sharon), Jean (wife Sandy); sister, Virginia Glass and Joan (husband Joseph); brothers-in-law, Chuck Huntington (wife Dolly), John Bushue, George Huntington (wife Ardel); sisters-in-law, Georgia Huntington, Jenna Huntington, Judy Delong, Leslie and Ed.

She was preceded by her biological mother, Anita Schmidt/Nee/Ostertag; mother, Irma Glass/Nee/Ostertag; sister, Dorothy; brothers-in-law, Fred Huntington, Paul Huntington, William, Charles Delong and sister-in-law, Joye Bushue.
