Obituary

Dallas Ervin Williams, age 90, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 7:35 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family.

A private graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo.

Dallas was born on February 16, 1932 in Brownstown, Illinois, the son of John Wesley and Julia Loretta (May) Williams. He married Mary Belle Rush on June 17, 1953 at the Baptist Church in St. Elmo. Dallas was a hard worker; he was a farmer and worked in the oil fields for 59 years. He was a member of the St. Elmo Masonic Lodge #769 which later joined with the Altamont Masonic Lodge #533. He was in the Air Force for 4 years and also in the Korean War. Dallas was a great husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years and 7 months, Mary Williams of St. Elmo; son, Bradley Williams of St. Elmo; daughter, Sheila Veteto (husband Doug) of St. Elmo; grandchildren, Jill Hill (husband Jason) of St. Elmo, J.D. Veteto (wife Jennifer) of Altamont, and Jodi Veteto of St. Elmo; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia Williams and brother, Murl Williams
