Daniel Blair Obituary

     

Daniel “Boone” Wayne Blair, age 73, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 12:05 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo.  Jack Jenkins will be officiating. Memorials may be made to Jasper County Cancer Fund P.O. Box 333 Newton, Illinois 62448 or St. Elmo Public Library District 311 West Cumberland Road St. Elmo, Illinois 62458 or donor’s choice. 

Daniel was born on January 10, 1949 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He married Vickie J. Force on February 19, 1966 He retired from Ameren CIPS. Daniel was a member of Twelve Points Masonic Lodge 769 since 1973 and a 32° Scottish Rite Freemasonry of Northern Massive Jurisdiction since 1990. He loved camping with his wife, twin brother, family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Blair of St. Elmo; children, Lisa Koberlein (husband Tony) of St. Elmo and Tracy Blair (late wife Michelle)  of Newton; his twin brother, David Blair (wife Karen) of Stilesville, Indiana; grandchildren, Andrea Koberlein of Effingham, Matt Koberlein of Effingham, Austin Blair (wife Bridget) of East Peoria; Ashley Grochowsky (husband Jake) of Newton; great-grandchildren, Matison and Kinley Koberlein of Effingham; several nieces, nephews and his two beloved cats.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond and one brother, Don Blair.
