Debbie G. Fender, age 68, of Vandalia, Illinois passed away at 7:36 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

There will be a public walk-through viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. There will be a private family service following the viewing. Tim Weihrauch will be officiating Memorials may go to Metro Community Church, Vandalia, Illinois, or the donor’s choice.

Debbie was born on July 25, 1952 in Effingham County, Illinois, the daughter of Lester C. and Myrtle E. (Hites) Sapp. She was a member of the Metro Community Church in Vandalia, Illinois. She enjoyed reading, going on walks, baking during the holidays. She was an avid collector of Santa Claus statues and loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by son, Aron Fender (wife Colleen) of Vandalia, Illinois; daughter, Lindsey Kenney (husband Aaron) of Seaton, Illinois; brothers, Mike Sapp (wife Sarah) of Virginia; sisters, Janine Johnson of Effingham, Illinois, Helen Cox of Farina, Illinois, Glenda Warner of Michigan, Becky Stallings of Colorado; her children’s father, Dennis Fender of Edgewood, Illinois; three grandchildren, Lilly Fender, Lenna Fender, and Easton Kenney.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Myrtle Sapp; brothers, Charles Sapp, Bob Sapp, Virgil Sapp, Gerald Sapp, Phil Sapp; sisters, Rosemary Cox, Delilah Nygaard.
