Obituary
Ethel M. Mefford, age 95, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2023 at Effingham Rehabilitation center in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a visitation one-hour prior to the service. Mariah Logan will be officiating. Interment will be at Iola Cemetery. Memorials may go to the donor’s choice.
Ethel was born on January 25, 1928 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Lula Reid. She married Carl “Jack” Mefford on March 18, 1990 in Edgewood, Illinois. She enjoyed embroidering, going to church, and going to the Edgewood Opry.
She is survived by her good friends, Sandra Blair (husband Robert) and family of Edgewood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Dale Reid and Raymond Young; sisters, Joyce Reid, Darlene Reid, and Donna Reid.
