James Chisler Obituary

James Martin Chisler, age 74, passed from this life on July16, 2022 at Harbour Health Center in Port Charlotte, Florida.   

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dillingham Community Church & Cemetery at 23249 Corinth Rd. Thompsonville, Illinois. 62890. Lucas Shelley will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorials may go to the donor’s choice. 

 James was born October 13th, 1947 to Christopher T. Chisler and Clara Elizabeth (Sutton) Chisler, just outside of Watson, Illinois. He had graduated from the University of Illinois and served with the Illinois Farmers Bureau until retirement. He was committed to hard work and helping rural development succeed. Jim married Treva Willidean Martin Neunlist on September 1, 2009. For 30 plus years they enjoyed traveling together and spending quality time with family & friends. Their Alaskan Cruise was their trip of a lifetime having breathtaking views, only God gets credit for. Jim and Treva built a home in Punta Gorda, Florida where they had resided since 2001.

James is survived by Treva’s son, Chris Neunlist of Marion, Illinois; son in-law, Woody (Vicki) Patton of Marion, Illinois; granddaughter, Cassi (Jonathon) Steinsultz of Marion Illinois; granddaughter, Heather Neunlist of Cashion, Oklahoma; grandson, Brandon (Kellyn) Neunlist of Weatherford, Texas, and 4 great grandchildren, Angelyn, Patton, Victorya and Jordan Steinsultz of Marion, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Shirley Elder of Effingham, Illinois and many nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives, neighbors and a lifetime of friends who will continuously keep him in loving memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Treva Chisler, who passed in 2016; parents, Christopher and Clara Chisler; brother, John Chisler; Treva’s daughter, Vicki Patton; granddaughter, Angel Patton, and grandson, Mathew Neunlist.
