James Eugene Ruholl

James Eugene Ruholl, age 76, passed away at 7:08 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family, in Flora, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Father Joseph Havrilka will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery Military Rites will be observed. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorials may go to Clay County Hospice, St. Anne’s Catholic Church, or donor’s choice. 

James was born on September 17, 1944 in Effingham County, Illinois, the son of Clem Henry and Rosa Agnes (Rieman) Ruholl. He married E. Diantha Pagliughi on December 4, 1965 in Effingham, Illinois. She preceded him in death on October 6, 2001. He later married Deborah Neff- Felty on March 21, 2004 in Edgewood, Illinois. He was a member of the Effingham VFW Post # 1769, Edgewood American Legion post #1168, and St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Edgewood. He loved coon hunting, fishing, camping, farming, music, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Ruholl of Flora, Illinois; son, Randy “Bub” Felty of Iuka, Illinois; daughters, Sonda Clocksin (husband Kevin) of Kankakee, Illinois, Lisa Rice (husband Steve) of Bloomington, Illinois, Judy Czyzewski (husband Andy) of Iola, Illinois, Trucy Powless of Flora, Illinois, Kathy Willenborg (husband Brad) of Farina, Illinois, Missy Hawkey (husband Clayton) of Farina, Illinois, Amy Keelin of Hinesville, Georgia; brother, Robert Ruholl (wife Jane) of Teutopolis, Illinois; sisters, Helen Walker of Effingham, Illinois and Mary Lou Vonderheide (husband Jim) Shumway, Illinois; brother-in-law, Jim DuBridge (wife Rhonda) of Farina, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Alice Ruholl of Teutopolis, Illinois, Diane Smith of Iuka, Illinois, Connie Constanza of Wisconsin, Carol Wilson of Clinton, Missouri, Trudy Malkey of Springfield, Illinois, Gina Brown (boyfriend Joe Sinclair) of Salem, Illinois; 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Rosa Ruholl; brothers, Albert Ruholl, Henry Ruholl, Wilbert Ruholl, Norbert Ruholl, and Raymond Ruholl; sisters, Verena Kreke, Elsie Sur, Eleanor Koester, and Rosemary Hillie.
