Joseph Watson Rogers, age 77, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 9:04 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Memorials may go to the family or the donor’s choice. 

Joseph was born on June 19, 1944 in Loudon Township, Illinois, the son of Dorse W. and Catherine (Watson) Rogers. He married Tamara Hess on January 16, 1976 in Decatur, Illinois. Joseph worked at Feller Oil Field from 1980 to 2014. He was an avid sports fan, loved music of all genres, and enjoyed making memories with his family and closest friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tamara Rogers of St. Elmo; sons, Monty Rogers (wife Georgia) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Derek Rogers (Adrian Mitchell) of St. Elmo; daughters, Stacy Rogers (Daniel Wendling) of Nashville, Tennessee and Devin Hopson (husband Beau) of Melbourne, Florida; 1 brother; five sisters; 8 grandchildren, Shelbie Nelson, Blake Nelson, Emily Rogers, Andi Rogers, Cali Hopson, Cecilia Rogers, Joslyn Rogers, and August Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorse and Catherine Rogers.
