Lucinda "Cindy" Tonn

Lucinda “Cindy” Tonn, age 84, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2020 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church in rural Altamont, Illinois. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Reverend David Speers will be officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Burial will be at Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham, Illinois. Memorials may go to St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church general fund or the donor’s choice.

Cindy was born on November 17, 1935 in Altamont, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Ida (Kruse) Meier. She married Albert Tonn on October 28, 1956 at St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church. She loved working on the farm, being a homemaker, tending to her flowers and landscaping, going on vacations, and spending time and cooking meals for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Tonn (wife Deanna) of Mason, Illinois, Kevin Tonn (wife Christina) of Mason, Illinois, Terry Tonn of Mason, Illinois; Carl Meier (wife Pat) of Hawaii; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ida Meier; son, Dennis Ray Tonn; brothers, Lewis Meier and Arlen Meier; and her beloved niece, Karen Kay Wendte.
