Luella Mae Rubin, age 95, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, June 11, 2023 in Altamont, Illinois.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Shobonier, with Pastor David Hoehler officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may go to Lutheran Care Center, St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery Fund, or donor’s choice.
Luella was born on April 29, 1928 in St. Elmo, Illinois, the daughter of Ray B. and Maude E. (Leturno) Buzzard. She married Leonard Rubin on February 18, 1967 in Vandalia, Illinois. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker, a secretary, and played the organ for her church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing the organ, and socializing with friends.
She is survived by sons, Ron Graves (Kathy) of Bloomington and Bruce Rubin (LeaAnn) of St. Peter; daughters, Sandra Griffin of Vandalia and Brenda Milliron (Deke) of Milton, FL; sisters, Carol Myers of Chesterfield, MO and Judy Wollet (Ed) of Springfield; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Maude Buzzard; husband, Leonard Rubin; brother, Rothell Buzzard; sisters, Eileen Haslett, Eyvonne Brown, and Leora Corley; sons-in-law, Robert Brown and Scott Griffin.
