Marsha "Jeane" Robertson Obituary

Marsha Jean Robertson, 79, of Minooka, IL passed away peacefully on May 10, 2021  at home with family by her side. She was deeply loved by her husband of 58 years, James Edwin Robertson (Ed) and cherished by her daughters Kristi Robertson of Libertyville, Kara Paulson of Morris, and Keely Eterno of Lombard.

A graveside service will be held at Keens Chapel Cemetery in Iola, IL on Saturday, May 15th at 2 pm.  A memorial service in Minooka will be held later in the summer. Memorial donations may be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet IL 60431. They have gone above and beyond in making sure the last months of Jeane’s life were comfortable and peaceful.

Jeane was born April 30, 1942 to the late Jack and Olive (Schroeder) Mitchell in Louisville, IL.   She graduated from North Clay County High School and attended the University of Illinois.  She married Edwin at the Louisville Christian Church on June 9, 1962.  She worked on campus while her husband finished college at the University of Illinois. Their early married life found them moving frequently for Ed’s engineering career, with the most years spent in Hanover Park, IL and Minooka. Of all the places she lived, Louisville always remained “home” to her.  While Ed worked outside of the home, Jeane put her heart and soul inside the home creating a wonderful life for her family.  When her children were older, she went back to college earning a Culinary Arts degree from Joliet Junior College.  Jeane loved to cook and entertain family and friends. She doted on her grandchildren and hosted many slumber parties when she taught them to play the domino game Chicken Foot, watched Pink Panther movies, and cooked their favorite foods. She loved dancing with her husband, shopping with her many friends, making and listening to music, and laughing with her sisters.  Jeane was active in all the churches she attended, serving where she could, most recently at First Baptist Church in Morris. Her faith in Jesus Christ was very important to her and it is what guided her in life.

In addition to her husband and daughters, Jeane is survived by three devoted sons-in-law, Jim Seward, Jim Paulson and Brian Eterno; five adored grandchildren, (Jill (Paul) Sahagian, Jacob Paulson, Benjamin Paulson, Matthew Paulson, Caleb Eterno; two precious great-grandchildren, Sam Sahagian, Anne Sahagian; beloved sisters, MaryAnn (Bob) Stortzum, Nancy (Lou) Kincaid, and many nieces and nephews.  We all love her and will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Olive Mitchell, her brother Jerry Mitchell, and nephew Mike Mitchell.
