Martha J. Vogel

Martha Josephine Vogel, age 76, passed away at 1:12 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Aperion Care Center in St. Elmo, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at St. Clare Catholic Church in Altamont, Illinois with Father Joseph Havrilka officiating. Burial will be at St. Clare Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2023 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo. Memorials may go to St. Clare Catholic Church or the donor’s choice.

Martha was born on January 29, 1947 in St. Elmo, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Mabel (Correll) Vogel. Martha enjoyed Sunday drives through the country.

She is survived by her siblings, Florina Finley of Vandalia, Joseph Vogel of Decatur, Anna Marie Harris of St. Elmo, Lawrence Vogel of Vernon, Eugenia Shutts of Bartonville, Joan Kelso of East Peoria, Roberta Lawing of Mt. Ulla, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mabel Vogel and siblings, Veronica Bradle, Charlotte Papatyi, David Vogel, Bernard Vogel, Alice Evans, Angela Vogel, Victor Vogel, Dennis Vogel, Gerald Vogel, and Norbert Vogel.
