Michael J. Belmore

Michael J. Belmore, age 55, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home in Effingham, Illinois surrounded by loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Following the Celebration of Life, there will be a gathering at Pagel Silver Dollar Lanes in Effingham from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Casual attire is encouraged along with any Chicago Bears or Cubs attire.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the Effingham Humane Society or donor’s Choice. 

Michael was born on February 22, 1965 in Kankakee, IL.  Son of Robert and Barbara (Ragle) Belmore. He graduated from Effingham High School and joined the Navy upon graduation.  Michael spent 35 years as a union concrete finisher. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting and spending time on the water. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan.                 

He is survived by his fiancé, Edwina Zarate, children Erin (Tyler) Davis, Emma and Jessica Belmore, grandchildren, Jillian, Jaclyn, Silas, and Cleo; brothers Clive (June), Robert (Jen), David (Tracy); sisters Elizabeth (Marty) Stalling, Jennifer (Jack) Jansen, and Rhonda (Scott) Meurlott and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Barbara Belmore and his grandparents.
