Peggy Joan Towles

Joan Towles, age 81, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones and will be dearly missed.

Funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood, Illinois.  Memorials may go to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the donor’s choice. 

Joan was born on September 13, 1938 in Kinmundy, Illinois the daughter of Luther and Edith Orpha Martha (Stoops) Beck. She married Paul McDade on December 21, 1957. He preceded her in death. She then married Glen Towles on May 22, 1965. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2019. Joan loved spending time with her family and friends, cooking for family dinners, romantic mysteries, crossword puzzles, and crocheting.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula Henderson (husband Bruce) of Minooka, Illinois, Kristie Feeney (husband Kevin) of Channahon, Illinois, and Julia Vorel (husband Quentin) of Newnan, Georgia; step-son, Rick McDade (wife Jenny) of Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
