Roger Lee Barnard

Roger Lee Barnard, age 73, of Vandalia, Illinois passed away at 11:36 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at his home in Vandalia, Illinois.

There will be a memorial service at a later date. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. Memorials may go to the family or the donor’s choice. 

Roger was born on April 11, 1947 in Idamay, West Virginia, the son of Harold and Betty (Kirkpatrick) Barnard. He married Sherry Hall at September 9, 1994 in Morris, Illinois. He loved shooting pool, playing cards, working on computers, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Roger was an avid John Wayne fan.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Barnard of Vandalia, Illinois; sons, Frank Barnard of Vandalia, Illinois and Clayton Hall (wife Felicia) of Wilmington, Illinois; daughters, Shannon Reed of St. Elmo, Illinois and Missi Tkacsik of Seymour, Georgia; brother, Larry Barnard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Dana Orr and Shana Reed, Jamie Tkacsik, Jacob Tkacsik, and Arya Hall; several great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Barnard.
