Rosemary C. Owen

Rosemary Catherine Owen, age 95, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Aperion Care Nursing Home in St. Elmo, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to service.  PeeWee Denton will be officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may go to the New Horizon Church or the Donor’s choice. 

Rosemary was born on June 7, 1926 in St. Elmo, Illinois, the daughter of Orville and Mabel L. (Hicks) Mills.  She loved cooking and making pies for everyone, and she loved being with her family. She married Charles “Joe” Owen on April 24, 1958 and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2008.  She attended New Horizons Church in St. Elmo, Illinois.

Rosemary is survived by two sons, Mike Stice of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Ray Scott (wife Tina) of St. Elmo, Illinois; two daughters, Wilma Jenkins of Effingham, Illinois and Susan Hollinshead (husband Max) of St. Elmo, Illinois; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Mabel Mills; husband, Joe Owen: two brothers, Millard Mills and Elvin “Shorty” Mills; one sister, Orvilla Sarver; one grandson, Corey Stice, and one great-granddaughter, Addison Scott.
