Shirley Ann Forbes

Shirley Ann Forbes, age 71, of Chatham, Illinois passed away at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo, Illinois with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. PeeWee Denton will be officiating. Memorials may go to Health Well Foundation P.O. BOX 489 Buckeystown, MD 21717 or the donor’s choice. 

Shirley was born on September 9, 1947 in Effingham Illinois, the daughter of Ephraim and Dorothy (Werden) Dragoo. She married Paul Forbes on January 29, 1964 in Troy, Missouri. She loved camping, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Forbes of Chatham, Illinois; two sons, Mike Forbes of Cartersville, Georgia and Darin Forbes (wife Andrea) of Adairsville, Georgia; daughter, Stacey Stottler (husband Jeff) of Chatham, Illinois; brothers, Charles Dragoo of Kiln, Mississippi and Dana Dragoo of Carthage Bluff, Louisiana; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ephraim and Dorothy Dragoo; and one brother, Goose Dragoo.
