William Dale McWhorter

William Dale McWhorter, age 75, of Louisville, Illinois passed away at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Dean Herberts will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2021 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Burial will be at Loy Chapel Cemetery in Heartville, Illinois. Memorials may go to the family or the donor’s choice.

William was born on March 5, 1946 in Effingham County, Illinois, the son of James and Thelma (Campton) McWhorter. He loved horseback riding, going to tractor pulls and mud bogs, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Billy McWhorter of Brownstown, Illinois and Rodney McWhorter (girlfriend Brittany Apke) of Dieterich, Illinois; brothers, Larry McWhorter (wife Brenda) of Dieterich, Illinois and Leroy Campton (wife Carolyn) of Funkhouser, Illinois; sisters, Lucille Tarpley of Flora, Illinois, Leona Butts of Michigan, Cleta Colclasure of Farina, Illinois; 7 grandchildren, Clayton McWhorter, Gabriel McWhorter, Hailey McWhorter, Wade McWhorter, Macy McWhorter, Bowen McWhorter, and Coleman; and special friend, Patty Kuhlig of Louisville, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Thelma McWhorter; son, Clayton Dale McWhorter in infancy; brothers, Jim McWhorter, Lonnie McWhorter and Jerry McWhorter; sister, Eda Cook.
